This week, our first place winner on the insightful side is Thad replying to a comment about Mark Zuckerberg’s past projects:

I’d say the first thing he did was bring back the AOL silo paradigm.

In second place, it’s MrWilson with a comment about the fifth measles-related death in Pennsylvania:

My bingo card has the next uninked square of “Measles doesn’t kill as many people as the flu!”

This is a great reason to do nothing about the issue, or even make it worse, so that measles has an opportunity to close the gap by even the slightest amount.

Big Vaccine wants your children to live so they can grow up and purchase vaccines for their children!

For editor’s choice on the insightful side, we start out with a comment from Cathay about Trump keeping RFK Jr. around:

RFK Jr has valuable qualities as far as Trump is concerned. He’s a genuine member of the Kennedy dynasty, a political outsider like Trump, and even less competent than Trump. That provides valuable support for Trump’s delusional belief that he’s he’s a great politician. See, he’s smarter than the Kennedys!

The idea of doing the job of government is utterly irrelevant. Trump’s idea of “public service” is that the public exists to service him.

Next, it’s an anonymous comment about Alabama’s TikTok settlement:

Feels like they found a way the make a “contract” that can’t be legally made with the state, laundering it in via a “settlement”

Over on the funny side, our first place winner is an anonymous commenter making a good ol’ misplaced-modifier joke in response to New York’s state of emergency around measles, and a sentence noting that “pharmacists can inoculate the public, so long as they are at least 2 years old”:

One year old pharmacists still can’t, though.

In second place, it’s TheResidentSkeptic with a comment about public submissions on the rules around midterm AI robocalls from Republican campaigns:

Filed

With this comment:

I have no problem with these calls. They give me the names of the candidates to vote AGAINST.

For editor’s choice on the funny side, things are pretty slow this week so we’ll keep it to just one. It’s another anonymous comment, this time about the White House’s midterm agitprop commercials:

On TV commercials, when something’s shot in black in white, it’s either the bad, “before” scene, or a cologne ad.

That’s all for this week, folks!
