About Me

My name is David S. Greenberg, and I’ve grown up in Highland Park.  My family moved here in 1977, and except for when I was away for college I’ve lived in District 113.

I believe that I received a world-class education at HPHS, and currently possess a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science from Western Illinois University, an Executive MBA from The Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, a Master’s Certificate and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Villanova University, and I’ve completed graduate work towards Masters of Science in Computer Science and Masters of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Degrees.

I’ve worked for large corporations and have experience dealing with diverse groups of persons, view points, and large budgets.  My experience is wide-ranging, diverse, and includes business management, construction,  education, process engineering, real estate, security, and technology.  As the EDI Manager for Global Operations at Moore North America, I was charged with revamping the processes of the department – approximately 50% of the $4 billion in annual company revenue was handled by my department – in a little over three months, I was able to lead my team in achieving approximately $2 million in savings.  In other roles that I’ve held throughout my career, I’ve saved my employers and clients millions of dollars.

As a taxpayer in District 113, I share in your dismay that our property tax bills seem to be on an ever-increasing path.  Over 2,700 of your fellow Highland Parker’s have signed a petition demanding that District 113 and other taxing bodies cut their budget, and provide immediate and long-term property tax relief.  Countless persons (including yours truly) have attended Board meetings demanding budget cuts and relief.

Despite all this, our demands seem to have fallen on deaf ears.  Spending is out of control and needs to be reined in.  The out-of-control spending and ignoring taxpayer’s pleas for relief are what have driven me to solicit petitions to run for membership on District 113′s School Board.

Please return to my site for more details about the out-of-control spending of the District, my views, and more.

I welcome all of your questions and comments, and hope that you will vote for me in April!

Thank you.
